Integral Ed's journey with Softr began with a need to transition from a traditional time-tracking solution (TSheets by Intuit) to a more flexible, project-based system that could accommodate the dynamic nature of their work.
The challenge was finding a tool that could support their organizational structure, where traditional hierarchical models do not apply and team roles frequently change based on project needs.
Integral Ed founder David Malbin was looking for a solution where it was easy to manage permissions and provide real-time insights into project progress and budget consumption, which led him to trying Softr.
The adoption of Softr was a turning point for Integral Ed. It allowed them to build a custom timesheet app called TIME, integrating seamlessly with Airtable for project management.
This setup enabled the company’s project managers to monitor budget and progress without waiting for payroll cycles, offering a level of clarity and efficiency they didn’t have before.
A second app, named the TASK app, facilitated workflow management by notifying team members of new tasks or updates, streamlining communications within the team.
One of the most significant advantages of using Softr, according to Malbin, is that it provides instant and customizable options for project management. This flexibility has enabled Integral Ed to create new project views, access controls for clients, and automate business intelligence and timesheet reporting.
The measurable results of Integral Ed’s custom apps (all created from the same internal database) speak for themselves: 2000+ TASK requests processed, 8000+ timesheets transferred, and 20+ active members creating timesheets.
The ease with which apps can be launched and customized has not only improved internal communications and project clarity — it has also fostered a culture of learning and innovation within the team.

Looking ahead, Integral Ed is exploring new frontiers with Softr, including a gamified e-learning app to help upper elementary students develop executive function skills. This initiative further advances their commitment to using innovative solutions to address educational challenges.
